Volunteer. Inspire. Ignite a SPARK.

Project SPARK is powered entirely by student volunteers, and we're always looking for more. Wherever you are, you can make a real difference. Help out in person at our events, or volunteer virtually from wherever you live. No prior teaching experience needed.

Why Volunteer With SPARK?

Volunteering with SPARK is more than a service hour; it's a chance to build leadership, sharpen your communication skills, and directly shape the next generation of scientists, engineers, and dreamers.

Make an Impact

You'll work hands-on with kids who may never otherwise get access to real STEM experiences. The activities you lead could be the moment a student first falls in love with science.

Build Your Resume

Lead experiments, run events, and mentor younger students. SPARK volunteers gain real leadership and teamwork experience that stands out on college applications and resumes.

Earn Service Hours

Every event and weekly session counts toward community service hours. We're happy to sign off on verified volunteer time for school or honor society requirements.

See Us in Action

From classroom experiments to community science stations, our volunteers are the heart of every event we run — in the Houston area and online.

Who Can Join?

We keep our requirements simple — and you can pitch in virtually from anywhere, or in person around the Houston area.

High School Students

You must currently be in high school (grades 9–12).

Virtual or In-Person

Anyone can join, no matter where you live. Volunteer virtually from anywhere — magazine, social media, online tutoring — or in person at our events around Pearland and Houston.

Any Skill Level

No STEM expertise required! Whether you're a future engineer or just love working with kids, we provide training and prep materials for every activity.

Commit a Few Hours

Most volunteers give 2–6 hours per month at weekly sessions or community events. Pick shifts that fit your schedule, there's no strict minimum.

Parental Consent (Under 18)

If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must sign off on your volunteer participation and emergency contact information.

A Positive Attitude

Bring energy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others. That matters more to us than any transcript or test score.
