Past Events
A look back at the programs, camps, and workshops we've already brought to students across the Houston area.
Weekly Sessions at Sam Jamison Middle School
Ongoing weekly science sessions with about 60 students at this Title 1 school. Volunteers led experiments like DIY volcanoes and student-built catapults, all aligned with the district's curriculum standards. This was our longest-running program and the backbone of our in-person work.
STEM Night
A community-wide STEM Night featuring a paper airplane engineering competition, interactive science stations, and hands-on demos for students and families. Volunteers staffed each station and helped hundreds of visitors explore science outside the classroom.
Holiday Science Workshop
Hosted at the Pearland West-side Library, this festive workshop welcomed families ages 2–15 with DIY Pop Rockets and Instant Snow experiments. It was one of our most popular events, blending holiday fun with real chemistry.
"Yes, I Can!" STEM Camp
A 2-day astronomy camp hosted with GiveEducation at ILTexas, reaching over 120 low-income students. Lessons covered Mars exploration, stars and constellations, and moon phases, introducing students to space science through hands-on activities.
STEM Kit Donation Drive
100 DIY STEM kits assembled and donated to Leon Sablatura Middle School and CJ Harris Elementary, in partnership with Dawson High School's Women in STEM. Each kit included hands-on activities like DIY hoverboards, marshmallow catapults, and the Egg Drop Challenge.
Virtual STEM Camp
A district-wide virtual camp helping students reconnect with core subjects like Algebra 2, Geometry, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology — taught entirely by our own successful student instructors and free for every participant.
